Melanie has teaching piano in Kansas City for close to 30 years. She started practicing and playing the piano at the age of 6, and has been a church pianist since she was a teenager. Melanie has studied piano at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas, and at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Conservatory of Music. Melanie has a degree in Music Technology from Kansas City Kansas Community College and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership with a Minor in Music from Fort Hays State University.

Melanie also plays several other instruments, including the violin, and has studied with violinist Monty Carter at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Melanie is a mother of 4 and believes stongly in the presence of music in the life of her family, and others. "It is my desire to see the medium that has brought me so much joy reproduced in the lives of others," says Melanie.
